With heavy hearts the Board of Directors are sad to share we have had to close the Children’s Home. There have been many hindrances in being able to move forward with our mission of caring for children. The need is still great but we cannot compromise or turn our home into a group home, as it is not our mission.
We started the mission of the Children’s home with a calling to help children’ who could not help themselves. We were initially told that if we made homes available the State would fill them up with children. Once we had the home the State changed this idea and would not license us thus hindering us from receiving children. We have tried to work with and around this and have done all we can at this time. There has been a great amount of time, energy and cost into this goal in caring for children.
It was worth even the six children we served. To see a baby change from pulling away from her mom to snuggling up to her, was a miracle in itself. To see proud little boys with new clothes and a safe place to be, not having to sleep under a bridge. To help a mom have surgery and not worry about her baby. These successes and others have encouraged us and we hope they do you too.
You have done well in your supporting the Children’s Home and we pray for God to abundantly bless you for your part in caring for these children.
As is the law we will be distributing any remaining funds to other 501 c-3 non-profits at the time our records are closed, which will be early this year. We have selected “Options Clinic” and Life House, Inc.
We are so thankful and blessed to have had this opportunity to get to know so many of you and hope we can continue in these relationships.
